Rocky Mounts: bike racks, locks and storage

Rocky Mounts makes racks that carry bikes by the wheels, plus the locks and wall mounts that cover the rest of the trip. The company offers a limited lifetime warranty to the original owner on products bought after January 1, 2014. See their policy for what it covers.

  • Hitch rack: the GuideRail platform rack for 2 in receivers carries 2 bikes at up to 60 lb per tray with no frame or fork contact, so it suits carbon frames and most e-bikes. It folds flat, tilts down for hatch access and is not for bikes with fenders.
  • Roof rack: the TomaHawk holds one bike by the front wheel with no frame contact, up to 40 lb on Thule or Yakima crossbars or 35 lb on factory bars. It takes 20 to 29 in wheels and tires up to 5.0 in, and is not for bikes with fenders.
  • At the trailhead: the Carlito U-lock fits a back pocket, the Hendrix folding lock rides on your bottle cage bolts, and the 25 ft Security Braid cable loops through bikes, kayaks and a cooler at camp (lock not included).
  • At home: the WallRide and WallRide Plus wall mounts hang a bike by the wheel, hold tires up to 3.0 in and rims up to 100 mm deep, and the Plus adds a 10 mm chain to lock the frame to the wall.

Pick the rack first, then add a lock for stops on the way and a wall mount for the garage. Check your hitch size, crossbar type, wheel size and bike weight against each product page before you order.
