HitchFire

Hitch mounted grills, a camp kitchen, cargo platforms and a lockable box from HitchFire, on a swing arm that clears your tailgate.

HitchFire: a camp kitchen that rides on your hitch

HitchFire started in a Santa Cruz, California garage with a full size grill that mounts to a hitch. Its grills, platforms and storage share the same patented dual swing arm, which fits a standard 2 in receiver and swings clear so the tailgate still opens. HitchFire backs its products with a 2-year warranty.

  • Grills: the F-20 hitch grill comes with the dual swing arm, has 355 sq in of cooking space on two 10,000 BTU burners, and detaches to run as a tabletop grill. The F20 tabletop grill skips the hitch and puts out 20,000 BTU on any camp table.
  • Camp kitchen: the Cook Station builds a slide out sink basin and a single burner stove onto the 38 x 24 in Ledge XL platform, with or without the swing arm.
  • Cargo and storage: the Ledge XL platform carries up to 200 lb of coolers, firewood or recovery gear outside the vehicle, and the Field Box is a lockable 77 liter aluminum box rated to 125 lb.
  • Build your own: the DIY Dual Swing Arm is a blank mount for your own box, rack or cans, rated to 200 lb.

Most setups start with one swing arm and add a grill or a platform, then a box for the kitchen gear. Pair it with a cooler, water and shade at camp. Check your receiver size and its tongue weight rating against the loaded weight on each product page, and disconnect propane before you drive.
