Questions

Which F-150 trucks should skip the FD-19342 Ambush?
Body Armor 4x4 lists the Ambush for 2018 to 2020 Ford F-150s but does not recommend it for the 3.0 Powerstroke diesel. For trucks with adaptive cruise control, Body Armor 4x4 points to its FD-4000 bumper instead, which accommodates that system.
What lights can the F-150 Ambush carry?
A 30 inch dual row LED bar in the center and two LED cube lights in the ends, per Body Armor 4x4. The L brackets take 8 mm light hardware only. If you skip the center bar, an included mesh fill panel bolts to the same brackets. The 30 inch bar and the cube lights are not included with the bumper.
Is anything different on an EcoBoost F-150?
Yes, two things in Body Armor 4x4's guide. The center LED bar is not recommended on trucks with the EcoBoost option, and the bumper should be test fit against the air inlet, trimming the inlet as necessary for clearance before you bolt it up.
Can I put a winch on the FD-19342?
No. Body Armor 4x4 builds the Ambush as a non winch bumper and says it does not support winches. For recovery it has two welded D ring mounts, and it is made from 3/16 inch and 1/4 inch cold roll steel in a low profile shape with a two stage light texture black powder coat.
What happens to the F-150 tow hooks?
They come off and cannot be reinstalled, per Body Armor 4x4's guide. Trucks that had tow hooks already carry the 12 mm double nut plates in the frame rails; on trucks without them, you slide in the included double nut plates before mounting the support brackets.
How long does the Ambush take to bolt on an F-150?
About 1 hour with light mechanical skills, per Body Armor 4x4. The bumper is heavy, so the guide strongly recommends a helper and blocks or jack stands under the factory bumper during removal. A front plate mounts with two plastic plugs and the factory screws, and the hardware gets periodic checks.
