The Fenix BC30 V2 is a 2,200 lumen bike light with a dual-distance beam that covers both the trail close in and features far ahead. Burst mode throws light up to 187 m (about 614 ft).

A wireless remote mounts on the handlebar, so you can change modes or hit an instant burst without taking a hand off the bar. It runs on two 18650 rechargeable batteries or four CR123A batteries, sold separately.

Fit

No vehicle fitment. Mounts to the handlebar; compatible with the Fenix ALD-08 helmet holder.

Batteries: two 18650 rechargeable batteries (Fenix recommends the ARB-L18-3500) or four CR123A batteries, sold separately. 18350 cells are not supported. Use protected, matched batteries of the same type.

On High for long periods, the light steps down slightly at 149 F (65 C) to manage heat.

Questions

Which batteries power the BC30 V2.0?
Two 18650 Li-ion batteries or four CR123A batteries, per Fenix, and none are included. Fenix notes that its ARB-L18-4000U battery is not compatible with this light. The battery level readout only works with Fenix ARB-L18 series 18650 cells, and the low voltage warning may not work on CR123A batteries.
How does the BC30 wireless remote switch work?
Fenix includes a wireless remote that runs on a CR1632 button battery. Keep the light and remote within 1.5 meters of each other while pairing; after the first connection the remote memorizes the pairing, so there is no need to match again. Fenix says to change the CR1632 every 3 months, using a coin to open the cover.
What does Burst mode do on the BC30 V2.0?
It jumps to 2200 lumens for up to 30 seconds, per Fenix. Single click the burst switch to enter, and single click any switch to exit early. If the battery is low, Fenix says the light comes on at the highest brightness the battery can support. Fenix lists a maximum beam distance of 187 meters (614 feet).
Which handlebar diameters does the BC30 mount clamp?
Fenix supplies a thick and a thin shim: use both together on bars of 22 to 28 mm, and no shim on bars of 32 to 35 mm. The light can also ride on a helmet with the Fenix bicycle light helmet holder, which Fenix lists as the ALD-08.
Why does the BC30 V2.0 dim itself on High?
Heat. Fenix says the light accumulates heat on High over long periods, and at 65°C it steps down a few lumens to cool off; you can reselect High if needed. When the battery runs low, the switch flashes red and the light also steps down to prolong runtime instead of shutting off.
