The Dometic CFX5 25 is a 25L portable fridge freezer and electric cooler for camping, road trips and overland travel. Dometic sizes it for up to three people on weekend trips or long solo runs.

It holds up to 40 12 oz cans, cools from -7F to 68F and runs on 12/24V DC or 100 to 240V AC, so it works in the vehicle, at camp or at home.

Fit

Power: runs on 12/24V DC in the vehicle or 100 to 240V AC at home, with both cables included. There is no internal battery. Dometic's 3-stage battery protection watches the vehicle battery so the cooler doesn't drain it.

Yes. Dometic calls the CFX5 25 its most compact and portable CFX5 and says it fits in the back of an SUV or rides along in the back seat. It measures 22.4 inches deep, 13.46 inches wide and 16.54 inches tall and weighs 29.7 pounds empty, with self folding aluminum alloy handles for carrying.
Is a 25 liter cooler enough for a solo road trip?
Yes, per Dometic, which pitches the CFX5 25 at long solo trips, day trips and duos, and at up to three people for a weekend. It holds up to 40 twelve ounce cans and can run anywhere from minus 7 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit, so it can work as a freezer or a fridge.
Which battery monitor setting should I pick on the CFX5 25?
Use HIGH when the cooler runs off your vehicle's starting battery and LOW when it runs off a separate supply battery, per Dometic's CFX5 manual. The cooler shuts off when voltage falls below the set level and restarts once the battery recharges. If the engine will be off for a long time, Dometic says to switch it off or use a house battery.
Can I charge my phone from the CFX5 25?
Yes. The CFX5 25 has a USB port for charging small devices such as phones, per Dometic. The manual says the device must be compatible with 5 V and 2.5 A operation. Inside you also get an interior light and a removable wire divider, and the lid has an integrated bottle opener.
Can I pour loose ice or water into the CFX5 25?
No. The CFX5 25 is an ice free compressor cooler, so it does not need ice, and Dometic's manual says not to fill the inner container with ice or fluids. Never immerse the cooler in water. Dometic's manual says to clean it inside and outside with a damp cloth.
How should I put the CFX5 25 away for the off season?
