Description

The Spark down sleeping bag is Sea to Summit's ultralight bag for people counting grams who still want a good night's sleep. It is filled with RDS-certified 850+ fillpower goose down with a non-PFAS Ultra-Dry Down treatment.

A technical hood and zipper draft tube hold in warmth. The 10D liner is very breathable, and a 10D shell with a non-PFAS DWR plus water repellent hood and footbox fabric shed wind and condensation. Full-length zipper models zip to an equivalent Women's Spark.

Why it works

  • 850+ fillpower RDS goose down, Ultra-Dry Down treated
  • Technical hood and zipper draft tube
  • 10D breathable liner and 10D DWR shell
  • Water repellent hood and footbox fabric
  • Full-length zipper models zip to a Women's Spark
  • Four ratings, Regular and Long, plus a 15F Double

Fit

No vehicle fitment. Fit is a little snug, cut for room to move. Regular fits users to 6 ft 1 in, Long to 6 ft 6 in. The Spark has no footbox zipper, so it does not open flat as a quilt.

Questions

What temperature ratings does the Spark come in?
Four: 45F, 30F, 15F and 0F, per Sea to Summit. The ISO lower limits are 45F, 30F, 16F and 0F, and the ISO comfort ratings are 52F, 39F, 28F and 14F in the same order. The 15F model is the only one offered in a Double size as well as Regular and Long.
How light is the Spark down bag?
The 45F Regular weighs 12.8 oz and packs to about 9 x 5 x 4 in, per Sea to Summit. The 30F Regular is 17.4 oz, the 15F Regular 25.7 oz and the 0F Regular 39.3 oz. Long versions add roughly 1 to 3 oz, and the 15F Double weighs 54.4 oz.
What insulation is inside the Spark?
RDS certified 850+ fill power goose down in a 90/10 blend, per Sea to Summit, treated with a non-PFAS Ultra-Dry Down finish. The shell and liner are 10 denier nylon, with a non-PFAS DWR on the shell and a highly water repellent hood and footbox fabric to shed wind and condensation.
How tall a sleeper suits the Long Spark?
Sea to Summit recommends Regular for users up to 185 cm (72.83 in) and Long up to 198 cm (77.95 in). Regular bags are 196 cm (77 in) long and 77.5 cm wide; Long bags are 211 cm (83 in) long and 82.5 cm wide. Long adds a little fill weight in every rating.
Can two Spark bags zip together?
Yes. Sea to Summit says the full length zipper model can be zipped to an equivalent Women's Spark so a couple can share. For a single shared bag, the 15F Double measures 211 x 134 cm and uses 985 g of down. Zippers are YKK #5 with a zipper plough for snag free use.
How does Sea to Summit build the Spark baffles?
It depends on the rating, per Sea to Summit. The 45F bag is sewn through for lighter weight, the 30F uses hybrid box baffles in the torso with sewn through baffles in the legs, and the 15F uses full box baffles for maximum warmth. All versions have a technical hood and zipper draft tube.
