Two Series, One Brand
All 9 tents in this collection are from Sea to Summit, and all are in stock. They make two distinct lines: the Alto and the Telos. Understanding the difference between them makes the choice straightforward.
The Alto: Ultralight First
The Alto is Sea to Summit's ultralight series. It uses a single-wall design with a secondary canopy and short aluminum poles to minimize weight and packed volume. It is not freestanding, so it relies on stakes for the pitch, which means you need to be thoughtful about site selection. That's a fair trade-off for the weight savings. We carry it in one and two-person sizes, with a standard 3-season version and a Plus variant rated for shoulder-season use and light snow load.
The Telos: Freestanding and Flexible
The Telos is freestanding, meaning it holds its shape without stakes. That matters on rocky sites where you can't get stakes in, at the end of a long day when you just want the tent up, or anywhere the ground is frozen. It comes in two and three-person sizes, both in standard 3-season and 3+ season Plus versions. The freestanding design also makes it easier to reposition after the initial pitch.
For Bikepackers
The Telos Bikepacking TR2 is a two-person freestanding tent built specifically for bike travel. It has a narrower packed profile and a modified pole structure designed to fit inside or alongside a frame bag or rear rack setup. If you're building out a bikepacking kit, it's the right call over the standard TR2.
