Overland Expo MTN West Report

Some of the Gearlanders crew are just back from another exciting road trip - this time a two week, 2,000 mile roundtrip from our home base in Arizona, thru Santa Fe NM, up thru Colorado Springs and Denver, landing in Loveland CO - there were some interesting detours along the way, but more on those in a separate post.

We were in beautiful Loveland CO for the Overland Expo event, where we were keen to meet many of our wonderful partners, take in the fun atmosphere and learn a thing or two from some terrific classes. The adjacent parking lot and camping areas were almost as interesting as the exhibits themselves with many people staying for the whole weekend in a wild variety of rigs.

From their site, they describe the event like this -- "Overland Expo® is the premier overlanding event series in the world—no other event offers the scope of classes taught by the world’s leading experts alongside a professional-level trade show that brings together all the camping and vehicle and motorcycle equipment and services you need to Get Outfitted. Get Trained. Get Inspired. Get Going".

This was our third time at the event, having also traveled to Flagstaff AZ and Redmond OR earlier this year, as we were gearing up to launch our site. Mountain West seemed bigger than the other two, with so much to see it made our heads spin.

Classic Ford

We were amazed to see so many classic vehicles on display, with many old Toyotas, Fords and Land Rovers in all their glory dotted throughout the exhibitor area. There were even some classics converted to electric vehicles, demonstrating that some folks have some serious commitment to the trucks they love.

Ineos Grenadier

Several car manufacturers had new, or updated vehicles on display. The Ineos Grenadier 4x4 was a new one on us
